Sound has a temperature too. When it’s not to hot and not to cold, the neutral temperature gives a warm feeling to the heart. That’s what Kim Sunggyu’s voice does at 36.5 degrees C. With the long lived passion he had, he appealed with his charming and emotion filled voice unlike any other instrument. Like Sunggyu’s constantly improving vocals, Infinite themselves are improving at top speed.
“We don’t know yet how much we’ve grown. But we’re positive about the fact that we put in more effort than ever because this was our first official album. Compared to the previous albums, the part distribution was done more equally, and we showed various sides of our style of music that couldn’t be done as a team(such as their solo works). Now that I think about it, it does look like we’ve grown right? There’s a lot of good parts and parts where I’m a little regretful about.”
Because he was the team’s leader and oldest (23 years old), he had to have hidden insecurities and pressure about the upcoming official first album to not let down the public who have anticipated the album. What he aimed for was not to do big and different styles but a constant improvisation from the styles that they had been doing up to now that could be described as ‘Infinite’s Style.’
“The image we’re trying to show this time too is not too heavy yet not too light, just in the middle. If it’s too heavy, it might be burdensome for the listeners and if it’s too light, people might just pass by on it. I want to hear “the feel is good” from whoever hears our songs and like our name show infinite potential through this album.”
Practicing behind the scenes for 18 hours a day in the practice room is what made the perfect Infinite on stage. Although it was the seven members of Infinite that made the precise dance movements look cool, it was even harder as each member’s schedules were conflicted with one another.
“It’s the most perfect when all seven members are together but we began to have obstacles when one or two members started missing practice because of conflicting schedules. But we tried our best to use all the time we had even practicing into the night despite the fact that we had schedules the next day. I think those hard times made us Infinite bond more and become one. Hearing words like “Infinite really matches well with one another. Dancing and whatever else it may be. When they are together, they really shine.” makes me proud and happy as a leader and as a hung.”
You amazing perfect guy omg, where do I even start? The greatest leader ever. Even though you tend to nag a lot, and always trying to act younger than all your dongsaengs lol *cough*. But you need to know you have really amazing leadership skills, leading and bringing all those lovely boys soo well. And I know that you always scold them lol. How you’re exactly like a hamster omg, yes I especially love that about you tbh. How you are just simply squishy doing anything, your hamster smile, how you always swing your arms back and forth like that creys. Also how invisible your eyes are hahaha, I love how I can always tease you about them hehe, it makes you look even more purfect really sob. And your amazing voice omg. It’s like an angel’s, it sounds so beautiful, just so amazing sometimes it makes me want to cry T_T .. There’s just so much more things, you are amazing and I wish I could tell you that in person. Just, please don’t keep scolding or shouting Lee Sungjong just cause he’s the maknae, be squishier day by day, hope you have your marriage with Nam Woohyun soon, and most importantly please please be healthy, remember to have regular meals, get more rest, and take more care of yourself!
